Hi,

This is a quick summary of the CF-netCDF session at last week's OGC
Technical Committee meetings at ESRI in Redlands.

   - CF-netCDF encoding for WCS (joint effort with WCS SWG) is the next
   order of business.  Close coordination with the WCS SWG is needed and the
   topic came up in the Coverages and WCS sessions as well.
   - NcML and ncML-GML encoding specs are under consideration for an
   XML-based encoding for netCDF.
   - Data “tiling” service: part of WCS initiative? Chris Little presented
   this idea and there was follow on discussion regarding whether this might
   be accomplished better as part of a processing service – leaving the data
   access services less complex.
   - Uncertainty conventions discussion paper (Lorenzo Bigagli,
   presentation on the OGC portal)
   - ESA Earth Observation Product Trees Project (Lorenzo, presentation on
   the OGC portal)
   - Frank Warmerdam suggestion that work on test/validation suite might be
   valuable. Martin Desruisseaux showed proof of concept system for API
   implementation conformance testing.  Martin sent out a comprehensive email
   message on the topic to the CF-netCDF SWG among others.  In another email,
   I'll forward that note to those not on the CF-netCDF SWG list.
   - No action items, no motions were taken in the session.
