Due to the current gap in continued funding from the U.S. National Science Foundation (NSF), the NSF Unidata Program Center has temporarily paused most operations. See NSF Unidata Pause in Most Operations for details.

Re: [conduit] NSF Unidata Pause in Most Operations

Greetings all: Unidata staff, users, fellow data nerds...

I just read the news, and I am tremendously sorry to hear what's
happening.
https://www.unidata.ucar.edu/blogs/news/entry/nsf-unidata-pause-in-most

While a part of me is devastated by this, the next thought I have is what
can I do? I'm not sure I have a great answer, but if nothing else I'm
still here to help answer questions, lend under the table support, and find
the data that you may need. Without knowing the full breadth of impacts
here it's hard to know where my assistance could be best served, but if
there is anything I can do please let me know!

To UPC staff: I know you said you're committed to keeping the email lists
online, even though you may not be able to monitor them much. In the event
something needs to change on this front I will commit to doing whatever I
can to help maintain our community. I know that UPC has some technical
details that might make it challenging for lil ole .com me to pitch in at
this level, but something something modern challenges.

I don't have the words to appropriately and professional close out this
email, suffice it to say this timeline sucks. But here we are. Hopefully
not for long.

Warmest regards,
-Mike Z
