Dear all,

Visualization is an increasingly important activity for understanding complex geoscience data, and for communicating results to a variety of audiences. We are excited to announce that, following an immensely popular programme at the 2013 conference, the next European Geoscience Union conference (Vienna, 27 April - 2 May,www.egu2014.eu) will feature several sessions dedicated to many different aspects of visualization in the geosciences. We encourage submissions from all areas of geoscience and beyond, from geoscientists and visualization experts alike. The sessions include:

ESSI3.1 Techniques and tools for effective visualization in the geosciences (Oral and poster presentations)

ESSI3.2 State of the Art in Earth Science Data Visualization (PICO Session, i.e. short interactive presentations)

and we also plan to run a hands-on practical session on the use of a number of visualization tools. Seehttps://www.dkrz.de/Nutzerportal-en/workshops/EGU2014-Visualization for further details on the above sessions and the hands-on practical.

Please see the full Earth and Space Science Informatics (ESSI) programme for other exciting sessions!

We hope that you will consider submitting an abstract to one or more of these sessions, and we'd be very grateful if you could forward this announcement to your contacts. The abstract submission deadline is **January 16th 2014**, and the website for submission is here: http://meetingorganizer.copernicus.org/EGU2014/sessionprogramme. (Abstracts are quite short and full papers will not be required.)

We hope to see you in Vienna!
