 Announcing:

*The 2012 Unidata Equipment Awards Program*

Sponsored by the National Science Foundation

Are you interested in participating in the Unidata program?

Do you need upgraded equipment to continue participating?

Do you have an innovative contribution to make to the Unidata community?

If so, you might be a good candidate for a Unidata Community
   Equipment Award!

We are soliciting proposals for computer equipment purchases from /academic institutions/ engaged in teaching and research in the geosciences.

 * Awards up to $20K will be made
 * Proposals must be received at the Unidata Program Center by March 9,
   2012 to be considered
 * Notifications of award status are expected to be made by May 2012

This year, special consideration will be given to proposals that:

 * Include installation of either/both THREDDS Data Server and RAMADDA
to share data relevant to furthering Unidata's mission with the
community at-large. This includes but is not limited to data from
real-time IDD/LDM feeds, local observations, data from local
modeling efforts, case study collections, and climate data.

 * Include installation of a prototype AWIPS II EDEX server, to share
data relevant to furthering Unidata's mission with the community
at-large. Unidata's technical staff stand ready to assist with
installation and configuration of this server.

As always, these special emphases do not preclude proposals from other members of the Unidata community for procuring new computers or upgrading existing classroom and laboratory equipment to integrate Unidata tools and data services in geoscience education and research.
