I was able to export the jre with the CAVE client, it adds an additional 312 MB to the installed application and the compressed DMG is now 373 MB. http://www.unidata.ucar.edu/downloads/awips2/awips2-cave-osx.dmg This is built Yosemite 10.10 with jdk 1.7.0_79 and Eclipse 3.8.2. When you drag it to the Applications folder 17,000 files are copied to 597 MB on disk. Updates only require dragging the app again from a new DMG and selecting "replace" when prompted by Finder.
