I'm getting the exact same error when installing AWIPS II CAVE today.

Subject: [awips2-users] Error When Install CAVE 14.4
While trying to install the CAVE 14.4 client today I get the following error
during the installation. I get the installCAVECommon.sh error and everything
starts to fail from there.
