Advancement Projects: A set of six projects submitted apart from the Baseline budget to NSF. These projects were designed to further the state-of-the-art in the Unidata Community.
Baseline Expenditures: Minimum amount necessary for Unidata to remain healthy.
Benefit Rate: A rate applied at 49.3% of salaries which covers employees benefits, including 14% non-work time (vacation, sick leave, etc.).
Forward Funding: Funds given the UPC in a year prior to its intended use.
Modified Direct Costs: Expenses subject to carry overhead.
Overhead: A 27.6% rate applied to total modified direct cost which pays for office space, utilities, and other costs which can not be identified as part of one particular program, and direct charged.
Working Budget: Current Year + Carryover (including forward funding)
