Unidata is looking for an Educational Designer

 Unidata

The Unidata Program Center is hiring! We are looking for an educational designer to join our team, helping educators and students learn how to use Unidata software and data services to support their scientific research.

As part of the University Corporation for Atmospheric Research (UCAR) in Boulder, CO, Unidata offers competitive salaries and great benefits. UCAR was selected as one of the Best Companies to Work For in Colorado. Simply put, Unidata is a great place to work. Unidata's team environment provides high levels of autonomy and responsibility with great opportunity to excel individually and contribute to the team's success.

We are looking for an educational designer to help us help our community of scientists access the Earth system science data that fuels their research. You'll have a chance work with a great team at the Unidata Program Center and and enthusiastic open source community to develop interactive learning materials for synchronous-remote (live instructor-led, web-delivered), asynchronous-remote (pre-recorded, web-delivered), and in-person software training experiences on topics related to Unidata scientific software packages and programming.

Specifically, you will:

  • Design synchronous or asynchronous distance learning sessions using a variety of Web-based technologies.
  • Develop curricula that incorporate existing learning materials and design additional learning pathways.
  • Prototype new approaches, identifying and recommending design solutions to help community members learn about and use Unidata software and technologies.

For a detailed job description see the official posting.
