Due to the current gap in continued funding from the U.S. National Science Foundation (NSF), the NSF Unidata Program Center has temporarily paused most operations. See NSF Unidata Pause in Most Operations for details.

MetPy Mondays #45 - Satellite Data with CLASS Part 2

This week Dr. Kevin Goebbert continues with part 2 of the CLASS satellite series!

Comments:

FWIW, I've found that The Weather and Climate Toolkit is very useful for accessing satellite data: https://www.ncdc.noaa.gov/wct

G-16 and NEXRAD data are directly accessible from the cloud via the NOAA Big Data Project (http://www.noaa.gov/big-data-project). CLASS requests can also be accessed by entering the order number under the CLASS tab. WCT also makes it possible to export data in a variety of formats including NetCDF (Gridded or Native).

Love this video series! Looking forward to learning more about xarray applications.
