I think I have lost track of this thread.
I know that after installation, you can
load an application using just -L<somepath> -lnetcdf
and you do not need to include -lhdf5, etc.
During the make process, this does not appear to work,
for me anyway.
So, Jed, to end my confusion, can you restate
the issue you originally wanted resolved in some detail?
