[netCDF #YEU-451918]: ncdump command in idl

Hi,

I'm not an IDL user, so don't know how to invoke it from IDL.

Here's an IDL package written by David Fanning that provides the kind
of information ncdump does, so you might also try it to see if it
works for what you need:

If not, the source code for ncdump is in C, and is part of the
standard netCDF source distribution in the ncdump/ subdirectory of
either the netCDF-3.6.3 or netCDF-4.0 distribution (the ncdump source
is the same in both cases).

The version of ncdump that was part of netCDF-3.6.2 was simpler,
because it didn't deal with the new datatypes in netCDF-4.

Depending on what kind of platform you are running on, you may be
able to get a pre-built netCDF binary package that has a working
ncdump program all ready to use, without compiling anything.  For
existing binary distributions of netCDF, see:

Probably version 3.6.1 or any version after would work OK.
