[netCDF #TTJ-726105]: Ncdump

Hi Lorea,

If you run

  ncdump -c [file name]

the output will show all the information about coordinate systems that was
written in the
file.  If this does not identify the level, then you will have to ask the
provider of the
data what level was intended.  The data provider should be using a convention
such as the
CF conventions to represent all the coordinate information that describes the
time and space
coordinates of the data.  If the data is written without this information, it
is not possible
to determine later.  The CF conventions document may be found here:
