[netCDF #CFJ-446395]: RE: netCDF file (GTA-125251)

Slimor,

The ncdump utility is part of the standard netCDF distribution. No matter what
kind of computing platform you have, you can get the source and build it
according to the installation instructions, and the ncdump program gets built
and installed on your local system. If instead you get an appropriate binary
distribution for the particular kind of computing platform you have, then the
ncdump utility is already built and ready for installation on your local system.

The source distribution is available here:

  http://www.unidata.ucar.edu/software/netcdf/release-notes-3.6.2.html

and various binary releases are available here:

  ftp://ftp.unidata.ucar.edu/pub/binary/

It's also possible to get binary releases from third-party packaging systems,
such as fink for Mac OS X, rpm archives for RedHat Linus, the dpkg system for
Debian Linux, etc. But in those cases, it may be simpler to just build from
source, if you have a C compiler and supporting run-time library, which are all
that are required for ncdump.
