[netCDF #MOB-465267]: Increasing maximum record size

Many thanks to you and your colleague for persisting and for providing that 
small program that demonstrates the bug.  It looks like I can duplicate the 
problem here, even with our latest release, so this will probably result in a 
bug fix.  I'll send more information in a subsequent email, but I may not get 
time to figure out what's happening and provide a fix until tomorrow.
