Howdy Evan!
Could you please send me the complete output of configure and make check, and
also the config.log?
I believe I have managed to reproduce this problem on a local machine. It has
to do with the handling of very large magnitude integers...
If it is indeed the same problem I will get it fixed for the next netCDF-4
alpha release.
