[netCDF #SMP-626991]: make check getting errors?

What version of gfortran are you using?

If you are using 4.0.x set CPPFLAGS to -DgFortran.

If you are using 4.1.x set CPPFLAGS to -DpgiFortran.

Either way, do a make disclean, and then rerun configure and make check.
