[Support #ECC-435970]: NetCDF-4

Hi Ben,

No, the current version of netCDF-4 reads HDF5 files that were written with the 
netCDF-4 interface.  The intention is that when netCDF 4.0 is released (which 
depends on the release of HDF5 version 1.8), a restricted subset of other HDF5 
files will also be readable through the netCDF-4 interface.

In particular, HDF5 files readable through tthe netCDF-4 API will have to meet 
these conditions:

 - if Groups are used, their structure must be hierarchical
 - no use of data types not supported by netCDF-4, including  Reference or Time
 - no use of szip compression
 - Dimensions scales must be defined for any shared dimensions
