You can use the ncdump utility that comes with netCDF to get an ASCII
version of the data, but it would require some reformatting to make it
suitable as input to another program.  You could do that reformatting
with a text editor for a small amount of data, but if you have many
files or lots of data, you'd need to automate the conversion with
another program or script.
