There's the problem.  The value of the macro NETCDF.MOD should be
"NETCDF.mod" rather than "netcdf.mod".

Go ahead and make this change in the file "macros.make" and then
re-execute the command "make install".

I'll see about fixing this here for HP-UX 10.  Along thoses lines, would
you please send me the output from the following command:

    uname -rs
