program.  This is very bad.  (See below.)

From the error messages above, it appears that your C compiler
environment is broken.  Try building the following C program:

    $ cat program.c
    int main() { return 0; }

using the following command line:

    c89 program.c -lc

It should work.  If it doesn't, then talk to your system administrator.
