19990201: data retrieval...



Maureen,

It seems that the file you ftp'd here is truncated. Maybe the
computer you transfered it to was low on disk space and it
aborted the transfer. Or when you downloaded from albany,
you weren't actually in binary mode- though you thought
you were.

Whatever the reason, GEMPAK can't use the file as a GEMPAK
gridded data file.

Try redownloading the file, in binary mode all the way. Our data disk is
unreachable currently- so I don't have the actual file here to post for you.
