[Fwd: TDS installs in the community] (fwd)

Mark,

I hear you need a THREDDS Data Server(TDS) set up for the workshop next week. the TDS requires the installation of tomcat and a bunch of configurations that are covered in our tutorial at:
http://www.unidata.ucar.edu/projects/THREDDS/tech/tutorial/schedule.html
Another restriction to using the IDD catalogs that come with the TDS is that the data must be in predetermined directory structures or the catalogs will not function correctly. Since time is the limiting factor, maybe you could give me a temporary login on the TDS installation machine so I could get the installation done remotely. Then we could talk about the datasets that you want to distribute. If the LDM will be on a different machine, we could mount the data directory. There are LDM pqacts already created to store the data in the predetermined directories so the modification shouldn't be too complicated. There is a section in the tutorial TDS IDD configuration that goes into detail about the installation. I'm leaving town thurs afternoon for the weekend, so timing is critical.

Thanks,
Robb...
