Storing Polygon Information

Matthew -

Have you tried establishing a Dimension for each possible shape (i.e.:
8_SIDES = 8) then creating a variable with that dimension of type double
with each value being a vertex point that has the x-value on the left of the
decimal and the y-value on the right? This should also allow you to add
attibutes to the variable for wall color, fill values, etc....

Tom Grills

Can anyone recommend a convention or method of storing polygonal
information in a NetCDF file? The polygons may not have an equal number
of points. They could be triangles, rectangles, octagons, whatever. I
just can't think of any efficient means of storing this kind of
information. Any ideas or opinions?

Thanks!
