ok here goes:
netcdf files - are you assuming CF conventions for georeferencing?
multiband geotiff - what did you map into the multiple bands?
do you pregenerate the geotiff or generate on the fly?
do you use "data sample" geotiff format, or greyscale or ??
Can you handle a request that has multiple times and/or vertical levels?
