The NSF NCAR Advanced Study Program (ASP) is pleased to announce that they are now accepting applications from graduate students for the 2025 Graduate Visitor Program.
The National Center for Atmospheric Research (NCAR) Computational & Information Systems Lab (CISL) in Boulder, Colorado is looking for a person with passion for and experience relevant to scientific data stewardship to become the Center's Data Stewardship Coordinator. The coordinator will work across all NCAR Laboratories to support discovery and curation of digital assets including data, metadata, and software or documentation relevant to NCAR observations, numerical models, and data analysis.
NCAR's Computational Information Systems Laboratory (CISL) is looking for a Director for its Information System Division (ISD). The ISD Director leads approximately 35 staff responsible for data curation and stewardship, software engineering for data access, development of data management and analysis environments, workflow optimization applications, visualization and data analysis applications, data assimilation research and model development, and regional projection model assessment that is a joint effort with the NCAR Research and Applications Laboratory.
NCAR's Computational and Information Systems Laboratory (CISL) Research Data Archive (RDA) contains a large and diverse collection of meteorological and oceanographic observations, operational and reanalysis model outputs, and remote sensing datasets to support atmospheric and geosciences research, along with ancillary datasets, such as topography/bathymetry, vegetation, and land use.
CISL's Data Support Section, which manages the Research Data Archive, recently announced that users of some subsets of the archived data can request files in NetCDF format.
