The Atmospheric Science Group in the Department of Geosciences at Texas Tech University seeks applications for a full time, non-tenure-track Research Assistant Professor within the Mesoscale Modeling research group. The successful applicant will broadly work in the areas of probabilistic numerical weather prediction and ensemble data assimilation, with a focus on transitioning state-of-the-art forecasting products into the operational Texas Tech Ensemble Prediction System (TTEPS). Evaluation of candidates will begin February 1, 2016 and will continue until the position is filled. A start date as soon as February 2016 is possible. Unidata offers equipment grants to support a variety of projects

The Unidata Program Center is pleased to announce the opening of the 2016 Unidata Community Equipment Awards solicitation. Created under the sponsorship of the National Science Foundation, Unidata equipment awards are intended to encourage new members from diverse disciplinary backgrounds in the geosciences to join the Unidata community, and to encourage existing members to continue their active participation, enhancing the community process. For 2016, a total of $100,000 is available for awards; proposals for amounts up to $20,000 will be considered.
