[NOAAPORT #ZLV-851048]: LDM misses data on NOAAPORT via satellite

Hi Jim,

Just touching base...

First, are you now getting the summary Gap stats emails?

Second, it strikes me that one test that would be most useful
would be for the output of the man NOAAPort Novra S300N to be
connected directly to one of your ingest machines to see if
that setup will eliminate/minimize the Gap errors that you are
experiencing. Exactly how this would/could be done is not
so clear to me given that both of your machines are configured
to have the UDP stream from the S300N connected to the single
Ethernet interface configured on each machine.

Speaking of single Ethernet interface, I also suggest that
you change the configuration of at least one of your machines
to use a separate interface for the UDP traffic from the
S300N. I think that the 'ifconfig -a' output that was run
on one of the machines indicated that there was, in fact,
another Ethernet interface that was not in use. The output
on the other machine did not seem to indicate this.

Cheers,

Tom
