The following is actually from the file "config.log" rather than the
file "configure.log", which is described in the installation
instructions.

Would you please execute the command "make distclean" and then
re-execute the configure(1) script -- redirecting the standard-output
and standard-error streams into the same file (configure.log) and then
send me the file "configure.log".
