Hi Noemi,
The ncdump utility program, which is part of the netCDF software, converts a
binary netCDF file into an ASCII representation. Another utility program,
ncdump, does converions in the other direction, from the ASCII representation
back to a binary netCDF file. Documentation for ncdump and ncgen are available
online here:
http://www.unidata.ucar.edu/software/netcdf/docs/ncdump-man-1.html
http://www.unidata.ucar.edu/software/netcdf/docs/ncgen-man-1.html
as well as in the netCDF Users Guide:
http://www.unidata.ucar.edu/software/netcdf/docs/netcdf.html#NetCDF-Utilities
I hope this helps.
