The above does not follow the recomended settings in the INSTALL file
for HP-UX B.10.20. Did you try the recommended settings and did they
not work?

If you didn't try the recommended settings and now wish to, then do the
following:

    1. Go to the top-level source directory.

    2. Execute the command "make distclean". Do not worry if it fails
        or even fails to execute.

    3. Remove the file "config.cache" if it exists.

    4. Set your environment variables according to the recommended
settings for HP-UX B10.20 in the INSTALL file (search for HP-UX).

    5. Execute the configure script. Redirect standard output and
standard error to the file "configure.log". If an error message
appears in the output, then stop and send me the file.

    6. Execute the command "make". Redirect standard output and
standard error to the file "make.log". If an error occurs, then
stop and send me the file and the file from step 5.

    7. Execute the command "test". Redirect standard output and
standard error to the file "test.log". If an error occurs, then
stop and send me the file and the files from steps 6 and 5.

    8. Execute the command "install". Redirect standard output and
standard error to the file "install.log". If an error occurs,
then stop and send me the file and the files from steps 7, 6,
        and 5.

    9. Execute the command "make clean".

I've included the rest of your message for completeness in our tracking
system.

Please let me know if this helps.
