That sure sounds like a bug, though no one else has reported anything
like it yet.  Can you make the file available to us or demonstrate the
problem with a small example?  

And if you send it to "support@unidata,ucar.edu", it will get someone's
attention even if I'm abducted by aliens before tomorrow ...
