I think you should use the cf77(1) compiler rather than the cft77(1)
one.

The above indicates that the library was built correctly.

I think the above is because the cft77(1) compiler is being used rather
than the cf77(1) compiler.  I suggest the following:

    1.  Go to the top-level source directory.

    2.  Ensure that the variable FC is unset, both in the environment
        and in the file CUSTOMIZE.

    3.  Remove the file `config.cache' if it exists.

    4.  Execute the `configure' script.

    5.  Execute the command `make'.

    6.  Execute the command `make test'.
