The installation `prefix' was set by the configure script, either via
the `--prefix=...' option that you used or by default.  The default
value for the installation prefix is the pathname of the parent
directory of the netCDF source distribution (i.e. one level up).

If the files have been installed, then it's OK.

Yes -- but check the contents against the above listing (which is for a
DEC Alpha -- so ignore the file sizes).
