That particular patch only appears as an answer to question #13 of the
netCDF Frequently Asked Questions, available in two forms from

    http://www.unidata.ucar.edu/packages/netcdf/faq.html

or

    ftp://ftp.unidata.ucar.edu/pub/netcdf/FAQ

I probably should put the HPUX 9.x patch in a separate file until we have
time to make another release.

One way to find out about such tidbits is by using the search capabilities
of our support database. For example, you could use a World Wide Web client
like Mosaic or lynx to get the netCDF homepage at

    http://www.unidata.ucar.edu/packages/netcdf/

and then select

    Search through netCDF support inquiries

By entering the keyword HPUX (if you happened to know it was an HPUX problem
rather than a netCDF or C++ problem!) you would see all the replies we've
composed that contain the string "HPUX" and you could then find the patch.

I'm hoping to find time to put together a new release in late May or June.
You are currently more up-to-date than the current release because you have
the C++ patches that haven't yet made it into a release.
