I tried retrieving several of your netCDF files so I could look at them, but
there was some sort of problem with the files or the retrieval.  The files I
get via gopher are very small, for example:

    -rw-rw-r--  1 russ          818 Jan 18 09:36 01189415.nc

and when I try to look at the file with ncdump, I get the following:

    % ncdump 01189415.nc
    ncopen: NC_xtypelen: Unknown type 1953658213

Are you sure the complete files are available via the gopher server?
