I know that WXP allows %ph%pn which would be the hour and minute that

There's no easy way via the LDM to use the internal product time in the naming of your files. However, it is possible to do so in other ways. You could write a script or a program that opens the file, reads that internal time, creates the file name and writes the file to that name. Then you would put an entry in your pqact.conf file to pipe the file to that script.
It turns out that someone here has written a script that does something similar. It's called 'ldmconnect' and it concatenates files that together consitute a product. You could use that as a model. I'm guessing that it's a perl script, but I'm not positive. I'm told that you must get the decoders package to get this script. You can find that via our web site.
