I'm not sure why you are getting that particular error.  It looks
to me like some sort of versionitis issue.  The only suggestion
I have is to clear the WebStart cache and then you'll have to
download the IDV again.  To clear the cache:

- Open the following Web Start manager:

http://www.unidata.ucar.edu/software/idv/webstart/IDV/player.jnlp

- Bring up the Preferences from the Edit menu.

- Under the section called Temporary Internet Files, select
the Delete Files  button.  You only need to delete the downloaded
Applications.

That should clear up the mismatch.

However, the URL you are trying to load:

http://lead.unidata.ucar.edu:8080/thredds/ncss/grid/LEAD/model/NCEP/NAM/CONUS_40km/conduit/NAM_CONUS_40km_conduit_20080328_1200.grib2/dataset.html

doesn't exist.  I'd try one of the other URLs listed under that section like:

http://lead.unidata.ucar.edu:8080/idv.jsp?data=http://lead.unidata.ucar.edu:8080/thredds/dodsC/LEAD/model/NCEP/NAM/CONUS_40km/conduit/NAM_CONUS_40km_conduit_20080328_1200.grib2'
