Hi Linda,

Thanks for the CONDUIT/CRAFT meeting agenda for January 14, 2004
in Seattle, WA (during the AMS Annual Meeting). But I won't be going to
the meeting and I am not sure if you would be discussing some the
issues that we are interested.  So I thought I talk to you before the
meeting.

Our users at RAP are very supportive of using the model output from
LDM's CONDUIT feed.  I configured our LDM servers to receive RUC252b,
RUC252p, RUC252s, ETA, GFS model output via CONDUIT feed in October and
thinking that we would start getting the model output via the CONDUIT
feed instead of FTPing them from NCEP.  However, I can't convince our
users to use the model output from the CONDUIT feed yet because the
RUC files that we store from the CONDUIT feed are NOT exactly the same
as the  ones we get directly from NCEP via FTP. For example, some
surface level  variables that exist in the NCEP FTP file are not found
in the CONDUIT file.  Another issue is that the levels in the RUC files
are not in order - even though they are in the correct order in the
status file, which are provided by the CONDUIT feed.

Many of our projects use the RUC model output.  It would be so great if
we can get them in real time just like what the CONDUIT is setup to do.
But we also need the data that we receive to be in the form that our system
can use without making major changes.

I have provided some information below for your reference.  Is it
possible that we can get the problems that I mentioned above fixed?
