Yes.  The single file output by the model is carved into individual
GRIB (GRIB2) messages which are then sent in the IDD.  Like you say,
this allows the requesting site to tailor their request(s) to get
just what they need.

OK.  I believe that a number of sites are doing the same thing.

Aside from just appending each new GRIB message for a particular model and
model run into a single file, no, not really.

Since we do not recombine the individual GRIB/GRIB2 messages back into a single
file, you may want to post your question to other CONDUIT users.  To do this,
