Re: Extended GFS 0.5 degree data

Steve,

I am currently using the file names to key in on these files, and will
need some time to convert.

Also, I've recently noticed that the GRIB2 data sizes that I get through
CONDUIT are not the same as those on the ftp server. Some of the research
groups here have tried running the WRF using the GRIB2 data we get
via conduit, and it has failed with bad data error messages. The
exact same runs work using the data ftp'd direct from the ftp server.

I've tried cataloging some of the ftp server vs CONDUIT GRIB2 files
using wgrib2, and while wgrib2 works fine on the files ftp'd from
tgftp, it bombs many times on the CONDUIT files, error messages
like '7777 not found'.

I'd like to try to figure out what is happening here before the
GRIB1 GFS data is removed.

I can make available some example different files if you want to take
a look.

Pete
