Subject: Discontinuation of Passaic Flood Warning System Data
on the Automated Flood Warning Systems (AFWS) Web Pages
Effective on or before September 30, 2013

On or before September 30, 2013, the point precipitation
observations from the Passaic River Flood Warning System (PFWS)
will no longer be displayed at

http://water.weather.gov/afws/.

The Automated Flood Warning System (AFWS) data on this Website
comes from external data partners. The PFWS is owned by the U.S.
Army Corps of Engineers (USACE). The USACE is reconfiguring this
network from Automated Local Evaluation in Real Time (ALERT)
protocols to GOES protocols. Due to the change in the
configuration of the network, the data will not be available for
display at the link above. The NWS will receive the reconfigured
data through GOES protocols and will use this data in its watch
and warning operations. On or before September 30, 2013, the data
should be available at:

http://waterdata.usgs.gov/nj/nwis/current/?type=weather;group_key
=basin_cd.
