SUBJECT:  NWS to Transition 12 Upper Air Stations to GPS
          Lockheed Martin LMS-6 Radiosonde Starting
          September 5, 2013

Twelve NWS upper air sites are scheduled to transition from the
GPS Lockheed Martin Mark IIA radiosonde to the GPS Lockheed
Martin LMS-6 radiosonde on or shortly after the dates listed
below.

NWS expect no missed observations to occur during the equipment
transition. The WMO Radiosonde Identification Code for the LMS-6
Radiosonde is 82.
