Topic: ESPC Production Zone Network Outage is Scheduled for August 8, 2012
Date/Time Issued: August 7, 2012 1705 UTC
Product(s) or Data Impacted: Production Zone will not generate any products.
For complete impact listing, please see Details.
Date/Time of Initial Impact: August 8, 2012 1600 UTC
Date/Time of Expected End: August 8, 2012 1715 UTC
Length of Event: 1 hour 15 minutes
Details/Specifics of Change: Environmental Satellite Processing Center (ESPC)
is planning a network outage for August 8, 2012, between 1600 -1715 UTC to
upgrade the Production Zone network. This upgrade impacts the network router
and firewall components. We realize this temporary product outage may cause
some inconvenience, and we appreciate your understanding as we work to increase
system reliability for the future.

Please note: No backup capabilities exist for individual network zones within
the ESPC operational network.
The upgrade to the Production Zone router will not be done on a Critical
Weather Day, or if there are other significant operational issues warranting
postponement. This planned outage will be postponed until August 9, 2012 if a
Critical Weather Day is declared on August 8, 2012. No date past August 9,
2012 has been planned and will require a new outage notification.
At the close of this outage window we expect all services to resume as normal.
If you find that any of your services are still affected after the close of the
outage window please use contact information listed below.
