NOTE: The nws-changes mailing list is no longer active. The list archives are made available for historical reasons.

On Wednesday, October 24, 2007 at 6:15am EDT (10:15 UTC), server maintenance will be performed at the NWS Telecommunications Gateway (NWSTG Washington, DC).

The scheduled maintenance window is 1hr. The expected downtime is 30 min.

_*Affected traffic*_

During this outage, *data will not be **sent out *of the NWSTG.
1. Data will not be sent to customers (e.g. sockets).
2. Although all FTP and HTTP servers will remain online during the outage, most data will not be updated during the outage.

We expect that the following data traffic will not be affected:
1. Radar Multicast to directly connected customers
2. Radar level 3 data
3. Inbound data from customers to the NWSTG
4. Traffic between DATMS-U and NESDIS/NATICE

We do not expect communications interfaces to be affected by the outage.

_*Critical Weather:*_

If the scheduled date is designated a Critical Weather Day, the outage
will be postponed.

We apologize for any inconvenience that this outage may cause. Please contact Allan Darling (allan.darling@xxxxxxxx) if the timing of this outage presents a critical problem for your operations.

Please forward this message to anyone who will be affected by this
action but was left off the mailing list. I would appreciate if you
would send me the email address of anyone that should be informed of
scheduled downtime in the future, but was not included in the current
list. Also, inform me if you wish to have your name removed from this
list.
