9 MEXICAN RAOBS WERE PROCESSED FOR THE GFS..

ON TUESDAY...APRIL 1...2003 AT APPROXIMATELY 1815Z
GOES-12...FORMERLY KNOWN AS GOES-M...REPLACES GOES-8 AS THE
OPERATIONAL GOES EAST SATELLITE.

ONCE ACTIVATED AS GOES EAST...GOES-12 WILL OPERATE ACCORDING
TO THE GOES EAST SCHEDULES AND SCANNING STRATEGIES.  ESSENTIALLY
GOES-12 WILL OPERATE AS GOES-8 PRESENTLY DOES.

THERE ARE SOME DIFFERENCES IN THE GOES-8 AND GOES-12 IMAGER
INSTRUMENTS.  THESE CAN BE FOUND ON THE WEB PAGE...ALL LOWER CASE.

IT WILL // NOT // HAVE SRSO CAPABILITY UNTIL 04/26/03 ONCE
GOES-12 IS STOPPED AT 75W.
