To all user of SYNOP and CLIMAT data from Germany
May we remind to the following notification of 041400 Dec 2002:
With effect from today, 17 December 2002, 1200 UTC DWD will change the
classification according to WMO Resolution 40 of most of the German CLIMAT
and SYNOP data. From this time 58 CLIMAT stations (ii = 01-02, 23-24) and
61 SYNOP stations (ii = 01, 21-23) are classified as 'Essential' and the
remaining stations as 'Additional' (ii = 44-49) from all main, intermediate
and non-standard synoptic hours. In addition nationally developed SYNOP
data of Section 5 are available from all synoptic hours under the headings
SXDLii EDZW. If required please request a short description of the national
code of Section 5 via e-mail address: rth.focal-point@xxxxxx
All CLIMAT and SYNOP data from Germany will be distributed with effect
from 17/12/2002, 1200 UTC in the following meteorological bulletins:

deleted. This information has been passed to WMO for publication.
