Details:

A GOES-8 East-West Station Keeping maneuver will be performed on
Tuesday, July 30, 2002 at 1805 UTC. For National Weather Service
operations: The backup date, and last window of opportunity (final date)
for this maneuver is Thursday, August 01, 2002.  If the NWS regions have
any operational concerns, please contact the NCEP SDM (301-763-8298) at
least 6.5 hours prior to the maneuver time.

On July 30, the following exclusive schedule will be employed to support
maneuver operations: (*PLEASE NOTE the scheduled GOES-10 Full Disk scan
period to support the primary GOES-8 outage during the maneuver.*)

Maneuver Schedule starts at 1134 UTC on July 30, 2002.

Southern Hemisphere scan at 1139 UTC is canceled.

From 1145 UTC through 1544 UTC -- GOES-8 Routine Imaging and Soundings

From 1545 UTC through 1614 UTC -- GOES-8 Full Disk Imaging with
Soundings

From 1615 UTC through 1644 UTC -- GOES-8 Routine Imaging and Soundings

From 1645 UTC through 1714 UTC -- GOES-8 Full Disk Imaging with
Soundings

From 1715 UTC through 1755 UTC -- GOES-8 Routine Imaging and Soundings
 Except 1745 UTC Scan is Northern Hemispheric Scan instead of Extended
Northern Hemispheric Scan and 1746 UTC Sounding is abbreviated

*From 1746 UTC through 1914 UTC -- No GOES-8 Imaging or Soundings*

**From 1800 UTC through 1929 UTC -- GOES-10 Full Disk Imaging**

From 1915 UTC through 0214 UTC (July 31) -- GOES-8 Post Maneuver
Recovery
Including:
  Abbreviated Full Disk Images (19 minute scan) at XX45
  Northern Hemisphere Extended Images at XX15
  CONUS Soundings at XX46

0215 UTC July 31 -- GOES-8 Routine Scan Operations Resume

Expect GOES-8 imager and sounder gridding offsets for up to 6 hours
following the maneuver.

Any postponement may cause changes to this schedule.
