A new web page is now available that animates the Meso Eta
forecast soundings. It can be reached at
    www.emc.ncep.noaa.gov/mmb/etasoundings/snding.html

Forecast soundings are available every 6 hours out to 60 hours
for the 0000 and 1200 UTC model cycles and out to 48 hours for the
0600 and 1800 UTC cycles. (Note that there is a link near the top of
the page to the "off-time" model runs). Forecasts are available for all

raob locations, and the page updates at approximately 0445, 0915,
1645, and 2115 UTC. We may be able to animate data for 3-hour
intervals at some future time - perhaps when the next NCEP computer
upgrade comes on line. This is not an "operational" product, so
occasional minor glitches in the processing or missed cycles are
inevitable.

As usual, meteogram and time-height cross-section displays of these
data are also available for viewing at
http://www.emc.ncep.noaa.gov/mmb/meteograms/

All individual station time-series are downloadable from the NCEP
anonymous ftp server at
ftp://ftpprd.ncep.noaa.gov/pub/data/nccf/com/eta/prod/
in directories called: eta.yyyymmdd/bufr.thhz/ where yyyy is year,
mm is month, dd is day and hh is cycle (00, 06, 12 or 18);
and
all individual station time-series are downloadable from the NWS/OPS
anonymous ftp server at
ftp://tgftp.nws.noaa.gov/SL.us008001/ST.opnl/
in directories called:
MT.eta_CY.hh/RD.yyyymmdd/PT.sndn_DF.buf/
where yyyy is year, mm is month, dd is day and hh is cycle
(00, 06, 12 or 18).
