GOES-8 Users:
Times for the GOES-8 maneuver have now been finalized and are included
below.  There are slight changes from the previous message which
contained the approximate times. Most of these changes move activities
one half hour earlier.  Read below for the full details.

A GOES-8 East-West Station Keeping maneuver will be performed on Friday,
December 14, 2001 at 1647 UTC. For National Weather Service operations:
This is the ONLY opportunity for this maneuver, and there is no backup
date scheduled.  If the NWS regions have any operational concerns,
please contact the NCEP SDM (301-763-8298) at least 6.5 hours prior to
the maneuver time.
On December 14, the following exclusive schedule will be employed to
support maneuver operations:
(*PLEASE NOTE the scheduled GOES-10 Full Disk scan period to support the
primary GOES-8 outage during the maneuver.*)
Maneuver Schedule starts at 1104 UTC on December 14, 2001.
Southern Hemisphere scan at 1109 UTC is canceled.
From 1114 UTC through 1544 UTC -- GOES-8 Routine Imaging and Scanning
From 1545 UTC through 1614 UTC -- GOES-8 Full Disk Imaging and Soundings
From 1615 UTC through 1638 UTC -- GOES-8 Routine Imaging and Scanning
  Except Sounding at 1620 UTC is abbreviated
*From 1639 UTC through 1744 UTC -- No GOES-8 Imaging or Soundings*
**From 1630 UTC through 1759 UTC -- GOES-10 Full Disk Imaging**
From 1745 UTC through 15/0044 UTC -- GOES-8 Post Maneuver Recovery
Including:
   Abbreviated Full Disk Images (19 minute scan) at XX45
   Northern Hemisphere Images at XX15
   CONUS Soundings at XX46
15/0045 UTC -- GOES-8 Routine Scan Operations Resume
Expect GOES-8 imager and sounder gridding offsets for up to six hours
following the maneuver.
Any postponement may cause changes to this schedule.
