More on Structures

I had written earlier about whether NetCDF could handle an array of structures, 
and one response was that XDR could handle structures and so could C, but it 
would require FORTRAN 90 and the extension of NetCDF.  Many good FORTRAN 77 
compilers now include structures, even though they are non-standard.
